Five Wedding Planning Mistakes to Avoid

One. Allowing Varying Opinions to Control Your Decisions

A frequent mistake that I see amongst couples is letting outside opinions get to them. While your family and friends are excited for you, this can also warrant varying opinions. Your wedding is meant to be a celebration of you and all things that you love individually and as a couple. It is very important to not let outside opinions get in the way of your decisions. Advice can be valuable, but at the end of the day what you decide is up to you!

Two. Uncertainty Surrounding Your Budget

The most common mistake that I see couples make when beginning their wedding planning is not talking about a budget. It is crucial to open up this conversation with your partner because a budget helps you decide what is most important to you. As a Wedding Planner, we know how many unexpected costs can come up during the planning of your event. When you have a clear budget set you can prioritize the areas of your event that are the most important to you while being mindful of your budget as a whole.

Three. Not Trusting Your Vendors to Do Their Job

We know firsthand how difficult it can be to trust others when it comes to the planning of your day. If you do not have the means to hire a wedding planner we recommend researching past client reviews, scheduling a discovery call, and looking over each vendor’s website to get a sense of who they are. Incredible outcomes occur when you allow your vendors to showcase their expertise. Give your florist creative freedom, place your timeline in the hands of your planner, embrace the insights of your photography and videography team and allow us to lead the way. If you are open to doing the above we guarantee that your experience will be memorable.

Four. Hiring a Friend or Family Member in Place of a Professional

Deciding to hire a family member or a friend instead of a professional is a mistake, and this can go for anything. This is not to say that your friends and family will not be able to help you however, in most cases, your friends and family do not have professional experience and most importantly they should be enjoying your day alongside you. If we can offer any advice please prioritize your guests’ experience and the memories that will come from this. You will never regret hiring a professional, but you will regret missing out on meaningful time with your loved ones.

Five. Not Hiring a Wedding Planner

We know I could go on about this forever, and so can many other vendors. If you have the means, please hire a Wedding Planner. If not for Full Planning, hiring a Wedding Planner to provide Wedding Management should be worked into every budget as it leads to your event being managed by a professional. Each day we help couples plan and manage the logistics around their day. We are your project managers and we advocate for you in every way possible, we want to see you enjoy your day without having to worry about details, and without having you feel overwhelmed throughout the process. A Wedding Planner is one of the best investments that you will make.
